[Mapserver-users] Max image size

Is there a maximum image size that I can use.  My app works fine with:

SIZE 1024 768

But not ...

SIZE 2048 1024

I should also say it's an RGB image.

Without bombarding the list needlessly with my error messages, does anyone
know off-hand whether or not MapServer, GD or GDAL has limitations in image
size?

(yes, I know that is quite large :)
