[Mapserver-users] makefile error

Hi all
  I am trying to compile map server for embedded vc++ . I got the 
mapserver4.0.tar.gz download and got the windows zip file after some 
transfers to linux box. Now I got the mapserver c , h files etc . When I run 
the nmake on makefile.vc  I got the following error ...

NMAKE : fatal error U1073: don't know how to make 'map.h'
Stop.

Could any one point to me the answer for it ...
