[Mapserver-users] Symbols / Pixmap or truetype

Hi all, 
I would like to have "user experience & comments" on using symbols in mapserver. Do you advise me to use pixmap rahter than truetype symbols ? Is there any performance issues ? What type looks better ?

PS : Information which have nothing to deal with this subject / Compilation of Mapserver & gdal+ogr using Oracle 10g works fine.
