Gerry,
there was a suggestion on the list in the last couple of days (I think)
regarding using HTML legend templates to accomplish this. The gist of
it was to set metadata on the layer that you want to appear in the
legend and include something like this in the legend template:
[if name=SHOWINLEGEND oper=eq value=1]
[leg_layer_name]
[/if]
you can also reverse the logic and put metadata in layers you don't want
in the legend, and recode the [if] appropriately
If you are not using HTML legends then I have no idea if this can be
done or not. Groups perhaps?
