Forgive me if this isn't the place to post jobs, but since I know most
of the people on the list are technically oriented geospatial folk, I
though I'd let you all know that there are several jobs opening up in my
department at the College of Natural Resources here at UC Berkeley for
people like you! We're opening a lab called the Geospatial Imaging and
Informatics Facility, and a new fire program, and we're looking for a
manager and programmers/support staff. You can check out the job
descriptions at
http://kellylab.berkeley.edu/jobs.htm
and you can apply at
http://jobs.berkeley.edu/
Familiarity with non-open source tools like ArcGIS and Erdas is
essential for all these jobs, but the GIIF will definitely be
open-source friendly, and it will be hosting at least one major
Mapserver/Chameleon web mapping project (my own), and probably more in
the future.
