Hello from the farthest West and North member of the list (at least I
think I am).
I'm Gary Sherman and I reside near Anchorage Alaska. I have a day job
doing various programming projects involving spatially enabled
databases, ArcSDE, and ArcIMS.
I worked for ESRI for three years doing technical consulting and custom
application development. I am also the "father" of QGIS
(http://qgis.org).
My latest work centers on deploying Mapserver for applications that are
not GIS-centric but require a spatial component. The current Mapserver
hacking is an attempt to wrap it up using JSP/Servlets to integrate with
our database/application structure.
I'm contemplating attending the Open Source Geospatial '05 in June.
Hopefully it will be warmer in MN in June than it has been this
winter :).
Best wishes,
-gary
