Thanks for the response, that's good to know.  Um, I'm not seeing
anything when I click through to

    http://fisher.cnr.berkeley.edu/vtm/PlotProgress/PlotProgress.phtml

Rather, I see a page with status "Applet started.", and a fully-checked
panel of layers, but nothing in the map box after the brief "Loading
map... Please wait".  Firefox on a Mac.

I approached them about doing some volunteer work, per their website,
http://www.greeninfo.org/html/jobs.html, but I gather there're enough
volunteers at the moment.

I'd be up for that.  I live in San Francisco, but would be happy
to meet anywhere BARTable.  M/W nights are out due to a teaching
commitment.  Maybe a Tu/Th evening, May 2 or 4?
