To find out what output formats are supported for MS4W:

1) for CGI mode, in a command window goto /ms4w/Apache/cgi-bin/  and 
execute "mapserv -v", such as

   $ mapserv -v

      MapServer version 4.6.0 OUTPUT=GIF OUTPUT=PNG OUTPUT=JPEP 
OUTPUT=WBMP OUTPUT=PDF
  OUTPUT=SWF OUTPUT=SVG SUPPORTS=PROJ SUPPORTS=FREETYPE 
SUPPORTS=WMS_SERVER SUPPO
RTS=WMS_CLIENT SUPPORTS=WFS_SERVER SUPPORTS=WFS_CLIENT 
SUPPORTS=WCS_SERVER INPUT
=JPEG INPUT=POSTGIS INPUT=OGR INPUT=GDAL INPUT=SHAPEFILE DEBUG=MSDEBUG

2) for PHPMapScript, on your localhost page (http://127.0.0.1/) click on 
the 'phpinfo' link beside the php_mapscript dll that you are using.  The 
resulting page shows info on your PHP install, and the section you need 
is titled "MapScript".  In that section you will see the MapServer 
version information in a similar format to the CGI '-v' output.
