[ms4w-users] Apache SSL Module

Hi All,
 
MS4W does work with the Apache SSL Module.
 
Getting Apache-SSL to work took a little bit of time and effort, but
here are the steps.
 
1. Download MS4W
2. Download Apache 2.2 with OpenSSL (I changed the directory to
/ms4w-ssl/apache)*
3. Download Win32 OpenSSL (from
http://www.slproweb.com/products/Win32OpenSSL.html)**
4. Install Apache 2.2 with OpenSSL
5. Install Win32 OpenSSL
6. Extract the MS4W Zip file
7. Copy /ms4w/apps, gdaldata, httpd.d, proj, python, tmp, and tools
directories into the same place in your Apache-SSL directory structure
(i.e. /ms4w-ssl/)
8. Also copy the /ms4w/Apache/cgi-bin, php to the same place in you SSL
directory structure (i.e. /ms4w-ssl/apache/).
9. Copy the httpd.conf from /ms4w/apache/conf/httpd.conf and replace the
httpd.conf for the Apache-SSL install.
10. Edit the Apache-SSL httpd.conf file and uncomment the "LoadModule
ssl_module modules/mod_ssl.so" and "Include conf/extra/httpd-ssl.conf"
(I copied this file and modified the copy) lines.
11. Edit the httpd-ssl.conf file with the settings for your SSL
certificate.
12. Start/Restart your Apache server, and all going well it will be
working.

* DON'T LET THE APACHE INSTALLER INSTALL TO THE DEFAULT DIRECTORY, YOU
MUST INSTALL IT SOMEWHERE WHERE YOU HAVE NO SPACES IN THE PATH OR THE
SSL COMPONENTS WILL NOT WORK
 
** I created a self signed certificate with Win32 OpenSSL (see
http://www.dylanbeattie.net/docs/openssl_iis_ssl_howto.html for
details).

I am also interested in this answer. A search one month ago doesnt get
me the answer. Mapserver deeds to be compiled with SSL-support, and in
MS4W it is not (why not??)
