Hi,
I have problems with installing ms4w version 3.0-beta11 on Windows Server
2008 R2. I have installed the same version of ms4w successfully on two
different computers with windows vista and 7 though.
I have installed Visual C++ 2008 sp1 redistributable package also, but It
didn't help.
Also when I click on php.exe at cgi-bin folder I get the same "side-by side"
error message.
I am newbie in running a server. The server that I am working on is a new
one. I didn't install any role or feature on it (IIS is not active.). At
httpd.conf file my listening port is 80
Here is the error in the logs/error:
"The application is failed to start because the side by side configuration
is incorrect. Please see the application event log"...
" Couldn't create child process:734001:php-cgi.exe"
" Couldn't spawn child process: C:/ms4w/Apache/phpcgi.exe"
This is what I get at event viewer:
Log Name: Application

I change the port No. to 8080 once to check if the problem is the port No.
In this case, there is no error at logs/error. the last thing that says
is:
-Child process is running.
-Acquired the start mutex.
-starting 64 worker thread
-starting thread to listen on port 8080
This time when I type http://localhost/, it says IE cannot display the
webpage.
Sorry for the long email. I am really desperate at this time. I have tried
whatever I could imagine of without any success.
Please Help me to figure out how to make it work.
Thanks,
Azita
