Hi Michaels,
I tried Dependency Walker and some other things and I made a decision
now: we clean the server now completely and install Windows Server 2008
R2 newly. There were some mysterious things in windows DLLs.
Reinstallation is faster way I think.
Thank you for your help. Perhaps I come back again after reinstallation
:-)

Nelly, Probably the problem resides in "Program Files(x86)" vs "Program
Files"
you'd better try Mike's suggestion woth dependences, or use something
like filemon/procmon from sysinternals to see the files mapserv is
trying to find

Hi Michael,
I call "mapserv -v" in DOS box on a Windows Server 2008 (x64)
and the error message is
" The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b).
Click OK to close the application".
Same entry in sytems error log (source: application popup).
I installed MS4W Version 3.0.4 calling apache-install.bat and
oracle client 11.2.0 with SQL Developer. With oracle client I get
connections to my databases within our network (not on the same
machine). Without MS4W it works so.
On the same machine only Java 6.26 and MS Visual C++ 2005 and
2008 are installed. Nothing else at the moment.
During call of "set" in DOS box I saw that there are variables
"ProgramFiles" and "ProgramFiles(x86)". They are set to "C:\Program
Files" although I have a german version and directory is called
"C:\Programme". Can this be a problem to MS4W? So far I don't think so,
but I am not really sure.
Perhaps I got the wrong libmap.dll for this machine.....are
there different one?
Regards, Nelly

Nelly, can you elaborate more on how do you start the app, what
is the error in console or windows system log, are you using x32 or x64
environment, database, oracle client etc

Hi Michael,
thank you for your fast response.
My PATH environment variable contains path to oci.dll
and I set ORACLE_HOME. I see both variables if I call "set" in DOS box.
Is there anything else to set?
Nelly
Hi Nelly,
You should set the environment variables correctly, for
example PATH, ORACLE_HOME etc.
At least PATH should contain directory where oci.dll
file resides
check the readme file for details

Hello everybody,
is it possible to use MS4W with an oracle 11g
client on Windows Server 2008 64bit somehow?
I tried MS4W in version 3.0.3 and 3.0.4. If I
call "mapserv -v" everything works fine until I copy libmap.dll from
directory cgi-bin/ignored-libmap into cgi-bin. Then I get an error
message that the application can not be started correctly. Nothing else.
Is this a known problem? Can I do anything?
Best regards
Nelly
