[MS4W-Users] How to build mapfile symbology with dynamic value inside the symbol?

Below is a CLASS definition that includes a symbol and a label. The symbol
'square' must already be defined in your map file or in a separate symbols
file. I use a LAYER of TYPE 'annotation' but it would work also with TYPE
'point' I believe.

  CLASS
    STYLE
      SYMBOL 'square'
      SIZE 16
    END
    LABEL
      TYPE truetype
      FONT arial
      SIZE 8
      COLOR 0 0 0
    END
  END

Good luck,
Rich
