Hmm your layer looks fine. I would run shp2img with the '-map_debug 3' switch to see all errors. It is odd that the error you get points to 'C:/ms4w/gdalplugins\\gdal_SDE.dll', when your layer points to 'C:/ms4w/Apache/specialplugins/msplugin_sde_92.dll' instead. I don't understand why it is looking for gdal_SDE.dll.<br>

I actually don't have SDE running locally so it is very difficult for me to test. Can someone with SDE assist David from this list please? thanks.<br>

The most common problem in this case is that sde dlls (sde92.dll, pe90.dll, sg92.sll) are not found in the path. As suggested in this thread, make sure that these files are available in your configuarion (eirher used PATH, httpd.conf, or simply copying these files inside ms4w\apache\cgi-bin\)<br>
You can also use a tool called dependecy walker (<a href="http://www.dependencywalker.com/" target="_blank">http://www.dependencywalker.com/</a>) and load msplugin_sde_92.dll. It will quickly give you if any major dependent dlls is missing.<br>
I can confirm that with the latest ms4w and using the plugins (90 and 91) , I can successfully load and arc sde layer in a Mapserver map file. Unfortunately I do not have 92, but I suspect that It would also work.<br>
