file is the equivalent to a MapInfo Workspace (WOR file).&nbsp; It defines the
layers, symbology, etc.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-NZ style='color:#1F497D'>You can either use
the native MapInfo Tables (this is the TAB, ID, IND, DAT, and MAP files) using
OGR (see <a href="http://www.mapserver.org/input/vector/mapinfo.html">http://www.mapserver.org/input/vector/mapinfo.html</a>
for more details).&nbsp; I found the to be slow, so I convert my MapInfo data
to ESRI Shape Files.&nbsp; This can be done with the Universal Translator
included with MapInfo Pro, or with the OGR tools included with MS4W, or I use
Safe FME.&nbsp; All of these can be run from a batch file or command line.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
