[Proj] Problems with Pittman geodesic??

Well, for sure, the Pittman results you quote can't be right.  The back
azimuth is just about due west.  So increasing the longitude of point 2
by 0.4 deg should increase geodesic by roughly 0.4 * cos(lat2) * 10^7/90
m = 31.5 km.  Can't you nail this down with solutions to the forward
problem?
