Yes, I guessed that QGIS WFS plugin handle transactions, because the WFS layer's 
picture shows the edition 

tools enabled.

I do not work with UDIG, but I'd like to know if UDIG supports WFS-T

Yes but there's an QGIS illustration on OGRS slides,
but related to WFS basic profile only,
as Nicklas said QGIS not (yet ?) support WFS-T

Nicklas if WFS-T doesn't work on Udig it worth to investigate why,
i will take time this week to try it too
