Are you using the 4.8.1 (unpatched) version of mapserver ?
What is the complete error message ? Is there any error or warning in 
the postGis log ?

I'm not sure but this may be relative to a know mapserver issue, on 
postGIS queries.

As said yesterday, you built mapserver your-self. You can retry applying 
the given patch.
