Hi
the mapOverlay plugin is not intended to interact directly with GET parameters, it is more like a toolbox you can access to generate or modify layers from within a custom plugin you will have to do.
Dirk Jesko posted a nice example some months ago on the mailing list http://lists.maptools.org/pipermail/cartoweb-users/2007-June/002574.html
You can easily recover any GET parameter via filter in your custom plugin and then use mapOverlay to do what you want with them.
regards
Oliver

Subject: [Cartoweb-users] Plugins Communication for dynamic map creation
Hi,
I'm developing a webGIS application which needs to create a layer on a map dynamically (thematic layer
I have read the documentation about the dynamic mapfile modification and I was wondering if the mapOverlay plugin can receive GET parameters.
In case it is not possible, could I use the filter plugin to receive these parameters and pass them to the mapOverlay plugin for the layer creation?
Thank you very much,
Best Regards,
Albert Casanovas
