I'm afraid I agree with Daniel. Having a final release that changes the syntax 
of a fairly prevalent method, only to have another release shortly thereafter 
that changes it again is not desirable.

I think you either need to go ahead and make the release with the changed 
syntax and that's just the way it is. Too bad that existing clients will have 
to edit any custom widgets to upgrade but that's the new syntax and that's how 
the syntax will stay.

Delay the release and make the changes so users are not aware of there ever 
having been an issue.

I can appreciate the difficulties in making that kind of a decision without 
fully knowing the amount of work involved to make the change. Can the decision 
be delayed until Bill has had a chance to determine that?
