[Chameleon] Question About Locate Widget

I'm not clear on how the Locate widget is supposed to work, but based on the
description of it, I think it is what I'm looking for.

What I really want to do is incorporate a search tool for parcels...pretty
straight foward, allow the user to enter a parcel number or owner name and
have the map zoom to that location.  Am I on the right track here with the
Locate widget?   I tried to impliment it both on the Chameleon demo and a
basic template I put together, but when I use it, it simply opens a gray
dialog window and then hangs why it tries to load something.
