[Chameleon] JPEG2000 & Chameleon

Hi!
I've a question about compressed raster. If I save a raster (not too big: 30-50 MB more or less) in JPEG2000 format, is it possible to insert it in a Chameleon sample as a raster layer?
Otherwise, if I use simply the jpg (with his .jgw) format, do you think that the navigation on the web will be slow with a 40 MB raster?
