For running Chameleon, you shouldn't have to set any options in cwc2.xml. That file is for configuration of the server-instance (CWC2).

You've got quite a lot of aliases. You don't really need all of them all the time, but at least the ones you need seem to be there.

The error you get has to do with a dependency. I'm not an Apple-person, but by the looks of it, it cannot find the php_dbase.dylib php-extension. I assume that should come standard with the full PHP installation for Macintosh. I also assume that therefore the mapscript library in your chameleon.xml should be called "php_mapscript_44.dylib", rather than "php_mapscript_40.so". Depends which version of mapscript you have. I'm like... totally ignorant on OS X, but isn't it linux based, and does this mean you libraries are ".so"? Either way, I expect your mapscript and php_dbase should have the same extension, which they currently don't. php_mapscript is the core of chameleon.

I don't know about your %CHAMELEON_WEB_PATH% value in chameleon.xml. I use full paths for everything, not variable names. Don't know if this could be an issue.

I'm attempting to get chameleon running on OS X, and I am having a
