[Chameleon] problem using true type symbols with Chameleon

Hi list,

I am running into a problem with Chameleon 2.0.1 (it might also be a  
Mapscript problem though, I am using Mapscript 4.4.2), and I was wondering  
if anyone else has experienced this?

I am trying to use a true type symbol in my Chameleon MAP file, like:

SYMBOL
   ..
   CHARACTER "&#65"
   ..
END

But my MAP won't show anymore in Chameleon, since the session MAP file now  
has (note that the quotes have been removed):

SYMBOL
   ..
   CHARACTER &#65
   ..
END

which results in a parsing error of the MAP file.

Is there a way around this? Am I doing something wrong?
