[Chameleon] serious potential problem with template parser?

Hi list,

I have just been puzzled for 30 minutes why my computer memory would go 
into swapping and why my pc would become unresponsive.

I had a Chameleon template with the following error in it:

#tools_gazetteer_mapserver.html#]

so a missing [.

Php.exe would go and take 100% CPU and several hundreds Mb of RAM.
