[Chameleon] Clarification about the WMSBrowser

Hi,

I want to have a clarification about WMSBrowser.  When I select a server 
in the servers drop down list, do the list of layers available for this 
server should appear in the text area below?  Do the search 
functionality use a catalog service?  If so what is the purpose to 
select a server if the results of the search tool do not correspond to 
the selected server?
