Hi Mony,
I have attached the code in a zip archive to the following bug report:

My proposal for the new name would be EditStyle, if we intend to add it to
Chameleon CVS in the future, but I would like to hear DMSG's opinion on
this.
You'll probably run into a few issues with this version, but right now I
lack the time to make this into a more generic widget which will work out of
the box with a Chameleon sample. I do plan to address this though.
This is an example widget tag:

Also, an application called Studio developed by DMSG a while back has some
functionality for this.
We have a widget based on this functionality which allows you to change the
style of a layer, but this works with SLD and therefore probably only works
with WMS layers, although it might work with local layers as well (never
checked).
If you are interested in the widget (it's called MapSymbols right now), I
could make some effort and try and get it added to Chameleon CVS.

has a pickup color tool...
It could be the starting point for the development of this new STYLE
LAYER widget....
