[Chameleon] ROI missing in IE 6

Hi list,
I need to make chameleon to show an ROI on first load. I tried to do this by 
setting values in $_SESSION['ROIRENDERER']. This works perfectly in Firefox, 
but not in IE. 
I found the ROI url 
(http://localhost/chameleon//widgets/ROIManager/ROIRenderer.php?sid=45332b74dec64&blah=0.33435844428703165&width=512&height=384&mode=0) 
and accessed it in a separate IE window and it showed an invisible 
transparent image.
But once I draw another ROI in the chameleon window and reload the renderer 
URL, the ROI image shows up completely opaque. It looks like a transparency 
filter is not being set somewhere but I can't find figure out how to set it 
up. Thanks very much for any help.
