[Chameleon] bigger picture

Hello,
 
I just walked into the wonderful world of MapServer.  I'm still learning
the basics so have a bigger picture question.  From what I understand,
Chameleon provides MapServer developers with user interface tools.  If
so, can Chameleon be used with any MapScript (e.g. Python MapScript, C#
MapScirpt, etc.)?  I have been experimenting with C# and am hoping that
I don't have to rewrite some basic navigation (e.g. rubber band box when
zooming in).  Thanks!
