Daniel,

Guillaume's package is "official" when there is an entry in the Wiki for it,
and it is installed and .tar.gz'ed properly under /home/fgs.

As long as MapServer is the only thing using GD I think it should be in the
MapServer package (likewise freetyp).  If more packages need it then it should
go into base.  Base will indeed get fat, but this is something that I can
accept.
