[FGS] cvs over ssh problems on maxine?

Folks,

I have tried accessing a few CVS repositories (cvs.remotesensing.org and
cvs.sourceforge.net) that require cvs to operate over ssh from maxine and it
doesn't seem to work for me.  I would expect to get a password prompt but
instead I get:

   warmerda at maxine:~/openev-build$ cvs -d warmerda at cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/openev co openev
   rcmd: socket: Permission denied
   cvs [checkout aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages if any)

Is this some sort of firewalling issue with maxine or something?  Regular ssh
out of maxine seems to work just fine.

I am looking to get started on an openev port.
