[FWTools] Problems to open image

Hello,

OpenEV crashes while it tries to open an image. This happends with all 
formats and is not related to the size of the file. Following error is 
printed out:

...openev:line 25: 19086 Illegal instruction ${OPENEV_HOME} 
/bin/python ${OPENEV_HOME}/pymod/openev.py "$@"'

Any idea what goes wrong? Similar kind of problem is described in this 
mail http://lists.maptools.org/pipermail/fwtools/2005-March/000046.html 
without an answer.

Platform is Red Hat Linux 3.2.3-53 and FWTools version is 1.0.0a4.
