Jeff,

I haven't run into this myself.  I assume it is occuring when
you open the images with OpenEV?

It may be an issue with OpenEV exausting some sort of
video resources since it creates a lot of tiles in video
memory.  But I have worked with substantially larger
images without seeing this problem.
