[FWTools] ?CreateMaskBand@GDALDataset@@UAE?AW4CPLErr@@H@Z, could not be located

Folks,

Daniel Denk has observed that the error:

   ?CreateMaskBand at GDALDataset@@UAE?AW4CPLErr@@H at Z could not be located

can occur with FWTools if you have installed something called Tiles2KML
which apparently puts a copy of gdal_fw.dll into C:\windows\system32.  If
you encounter this, I'd suggest removing the copy in C:\windows\system32.

Very frustrating!
