[FWTools] Data Conversion]

HI AGAIN,
I would like to learn about the techniques or concepts for the data conversion library for both the GDAL and ORG. Meaning to say the principle in which the GDAL/ORG library works by and how it has been used in FWTool. This is mainly for my own postgraduate study purpose. Do you know of any study or evaluation of the data conversion accuracy measurment that has been done that covers (completness, consistancy, and Topology).

Is there any documented some where that deals with the previous issues that i mentioned. Is it possible to have a copy of such documentation. e.g. like for FME Tool they have what is called white papers that describe the principle by which it works.

Your help is highly appreciated.

Thank You.

Maab,

There is no generic XML driver in OGR.

Yes, ogr2ogr supports writing GML 2 datasets.

There is no significant support for GML as a wrapper or container for
raster data. The only vaguely related item is that the JPEG2000 drivers
can write a GML coverage description box in jpeg2000 files per the
OGC GML-JP2 specification.

Best regards,
