[FWTools] Big NTv2-Grid-File causes problem

Hello,

i received a NTv2-Grid-File and wanted to tranform some data with cs2cs but the results are 150m off.

The gs_count is greater than 1000000. Other software like FME or ArcGIS ignore this "problem" and transform the data fine.

Why is there a limitation in the NTv2-Standard? Is it possible to change the FW-Tools so that greater Grid-Files could be used?
