Hello Bob,

"gdal_translate --formats"      gives you a list with all available drivers. It seems that the JPEG2000 is not included by default. However there are some other implementations of JPEG2000 available: LP2ECW and JP2MrSID. You could try one of these, or you would need to build the driver on your own.

I am trying to convert GeoTiff files to JPEG2000 using the following command:

gdal_translate -of JPEG2000 input.tif output.jp2

but get the message:

Output driver `JPEG2000' not recognised.

I am using FWTools 2.4.7, released 2010/01/19, on Windows XP Pro.

Is it possible to do what I want to do?
