[Geotiff] JAVA and GeoTiff

Hi list,
I am just subscribe to this list and I noticed going through the
archives that have been many people asking for help for reading
geotiff files in Java. Well, I am the mantainer of a module to
read/write geotiff files in in JAI through JAI/ImageIO which has many
features and is in active development. Such a module is part of the
GeoTools open source library. It is worth to point out that at same
time an effort to enhance this functionality leveraging on GDAL is
going on in the background.

In case anyone needs some more information/guidance/help, please, feel
