Dear OOS-Tech Participants,

The Summer Meeting of the ESIP Federation will host several Technical
Workshops and Tutorials that may be of interest to OOS-Tech members.

The meeting will take place, August 16-18, 2004 at the Renaissance
Hotel, Asheville, North Carolina.  Hosted by NOAA’s National Climatic
Data Center.

The general meeting is open to the public and other activities have
been planned. There will be many opportunities to interface with
colleagues through formal and informal sessions, the most exciting of
which will be the opening day Opportunity Fair.  Come hear Jack
Dangermond, President of ESRI speak and learn more about GIS supporting
science, applications and education through different panel
discussions.  There will be opportunities to tour NOAA’s NCDC and to
learn more about what NCDC is doing on the data management and
archiving fronts.

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Renaissance Hote in
Asheville.  The deadline for reserving the room is July 23.  After that
time, rooms will be available at the prevailing market rate.  The
online registration system for the meeting is now available.

The deadline for registering for the meeting is August 2.
