Your message isn't lost. I received it and I'm thinking how to include
your contribution in kaXmlOverlay.
The TODO list is:

1. Merge your patch in the CVS head version
2. Update the documentation
3. Write an example and test it in different browsers

[Un]fortunately I'm leaving for holidays and I will be back begin of
September. If in the meanwhile you want to work on the TODOs you can
be sure the version will not change.
