[ka-Map-users] Customization of ka-Map legend

The style of the ka-Map legend is kind of hardcoded in kaLegend.js. It 
seems that the only way to customize it is by editing the core .js 
files, but then that doesn't make for easy upgrades of an application 
down the road.

For instance, one may want to remove the layer transparency and 
promote/demote layer controls. Any thoughts on how we could handle this 
kind of customizations in a generic way in ka-Map without modifying core 
files, so that upgrading the core ka-Map files in an existing 
application can be done easily?

Perhaps something as simple as setting some kind of prefs in JavaScript 
in the index.html before the call to myOnLoad() could do. Hopefully 
those with more experience with the JavaScript side of ka-Map will have 
better ideas.
