[ka-Map-users] Future of ka-map?

Is anyone loading tiles from TileCache instead of tile.php into ka-map?  I mean modifying _layer.setTile() in kaMap.js to connect to a TileCache instance?  It would give a nice option to those who want to continue to use the ka-map API instead of OpenLayers.

I read Tim Schaub's message about integrating OpenLayers into ka-map (http://lists.maptools.org/pipermail/ka-map-users/2007-November/003340.html), but that involves loading both ka-map and Openlayers JS APIs into the browser
