Hi Camilo,
I'm sorry I've never find the time to integrate hilite inside 
kaExplorer. Just a problem of priorities.

The code is available in index_query.html and the JS files that are 
included.

It would be great to definitively integrate it with  SLD support to 
style the hilite layer.

does anybody have time for this?
