[maplab-users] Can't previewVic Kelson vic@wittmanhydro.comThu, 03 Apr 2003 12:55:21 -0500

Hi All, I'm a rookie at MapLab, but experienced with Mapserver. I can't seem to preview a map using MapEdit -- here's what pops up: Warning: MapServer Error in getSymbol(): (LOCAL):(19) in /opt/httpd/htdocs/maplab/htdocs/common/wrapper/map_session.php on line 208 Fatal error: Failed to open map file /tmp//3e8c6fc4e7b9d.map in /opt/httpd/htdocs/maplab/htdocs/common/wrapper/map_session.php on line 208 I am running MapLab-2.0rc5 on RedHat Linux 7.3, with Mapserver-3.6.4, apache-1.3.27, php-4.2.4 running as the same user that I am. If I look in /tmp, I do see the temporary map file: -rw-r--r-- 1 vic users 361 Apr 3 12:47 /tmp/3e8c6fc4e7b9d.map Now, should the map file be in /tmp, or should it be somewhere in my ../httpd/htdocs/.. tree? Could it be that the CGI PHP can't look in the system /tmp? I tried setting the temporary mapfile path to /opt/httpd/htdocs/tmp (my home-built apache, etc. are installed in /opt). Didn't work. Any advice? I think I'm close! Vic
