[maplab-users] configuration of maplab

I have got still a problem with the maplab configuration. If I test the 
configuration at my machine, all of the tested parts( except the gif 
support) seems to be ok (maplab information).
Today I spend several hours to start the work with maplab, but till now 
I have got no success. (frustration)
I am using the maplab-devel version, linux mandrake, apache 1.3.26, 
php1.3.4, all things configured and compiled as in the installation 
documentation.
maplab is installed above the document root

(/usr/local/apache/htdocs/maplab-2.0rc3

First problem:
I can not create a new map file (file system is set to chmod -R 777 
maplab-2.0rc3).
If I open the file dialog window, I can browse the file system, but I 
have always two !!! cancel buttons (red and grey).
After closing the window, the picture (upper right) with dm-solution 
disappears, because the path is wrong (apache log).
( File does not exist:
/usr/local/apache/htdocs/images/dmsglogo.gif)

second problem
I can not open any map file.

What's wrong?

Do I have to include any other php-file?
