Dear maplab friends,
I have managed to install MapLab 2.1-rc3 on my home PC:
WinXPpro
Apache 2.0.48
PHP 4.3.4
mapscript 36
mapserver 4.0
In the info page, the mapserver version 3.6.6 is shown, however I am =
sure I have a 4.0 version. I configured paths etc., after receiving =
several temp folder errors, and maplab comes to life with no errors. It =
is a wonderful, very friendly map file interface and is definitely worth =
the effort.
1) Now I am stuck completely. I have a map file that I had created =
manually and works fine when called directly =
(http://localhost/cgi-bin/mapserv.exe?map=3Dpath/to/mymapfile.map&mode=3D=
map) or htrough a simple html file I created. It is a very basic map =
with two layers, one of which has two classes.However, this file does =
not work in Maplab:
- My color settings for the class are not defined under a style, but are =
stated within the class lines. This is OK for mapserver. However, it =
does not work under map lab, and in the mapbrowser it displays a blank =
map.
- I try to set styles to define colors. When I am done and switch to =
mapbrowse, I get error messages that appear to come from mapserv.exe:
Warning: MapServer Error in loadClass(): (STYLE):(116) in =
path\to\maplab\htdocs\common\wrapper\map_session.php on line 215
(This is followed by a fail to read map file fatal error message)
- If the style is unnamed, then the direct mapserv call works. If it's =
named, it doesn't, but displays another error
loadStyle(): Unknown identifier. Parsing error near (NAME):(line =
118)
- I manually comment the NAME line in the style, and the direct =
mapserv.exe call works again, but the mapbrowse still not.
- After loads of trials (new map files with single layer, etc.), I get =
the same result. The mapbrowse errors dissapear only when the styles are =
gone, but then I get a blank map.
- Can anyone see a possible error in the above procedure?
2) My color picker does not work. The browser window pops up, and inside =
there is a grey background and a darker grey box, but no colors. I have =
the colorpicker.class file. I try the test_color_picker.html and get the =
same empty popup window
3) My symbol picker is not working. I get a message window stating:
No SYMBOLSET or invalid path in MAP object
Symbol picker not available
4) My font picker is working, but is empty
5) I try to work Gmap Factory with my no-style blank map. The interface =
works. When rosa is enabled, no tools appear. When I switch to HTML =
tools, the tools appear, but the blank map dissapears (red x appears)
6) tutorial.map doesn't work. I tried it in vain. I get an msLoadMap() =
OUTPUTFORMAT error. I read somwhere in the list to import the 3.x file. =
Unfortunately, importing does not seem to work at all.
Can anyone help me in any or all of the above? Thanks.
