[maplab-users] Trouble getting (re)startedBalkanu GIS gis@balkanu.com.auTue, 2 Mar 2004 17:45:46 +1000

Thanks Paul for your reply. Rather than search in vain for an elusive config error or typo in httpd.conf or php.ini, I took your advice and installed ms4w. Finally it works, hooray! Now I'm having some trouble displaying vector shapes through the MapLab browser. The preview legend shows the layers as the 'broken image' icon, meaning they can't be accessed. At first I thought it might be an OGR problem (my layers are MapInfo TAB files) but I tested using a .SHP file I had lying around and this also could not be accessed. The data files are in quite a different part of the directory structure (i.e. c:/bla/bla/data/ instead of c:/ms4w/apps/blabla) - do you think this could be a permissions problem where either Apache or MapServer is not being allowed to access the files I'm pointing at in the MapFile? But it all looks right ... perhaps a small typo or extra space somewhere ... or an extra / somewhere? You can also try http://www.maptools.org/ms4w/ to setup apache, php, mapscript and maplab in a fully preconfigured environment that *should* work out of the box :) Cheers, Paul Balkanu GIS wrote: > Hi all, > I hope this doesn't sound too stupid, but: > > <setup> > Win2000 sp4 > Apache 2 > PHP 4.3.4 > MapServer 4.0 > MapLab 2.1 rc3 > </setup> > > 1.
