- well if you want a quick Apache install of mapserver, install MS4W 
(http://www.maptools.org/ms4w/index.phtml) and start Apache.
- copy your gmf_app folder into /ms4w/apps directory
- open /yourapp/globeprefs.php in a text editor and change the 
"APP_PATH" to the correct path to the 'yourapp' folder (line 28)
- add a new alias to your application in /ms4w/httpd.d/ (see the readme 
in that folder for instructions)
- restart apache
- now goto http://127.0.0.1/youralias/appname.phtml in a browser

Yes maplab2.2 does work in XP.  What problems do you have?
