Hello all. Tyler suggested a quick intro, and here it is.

Miistakis Institute is a non-profit, research institute affiliated with
the University of Calgary, which is where our office is located. You can
see more about us here: http://www.rockies.ca

I worked with ArcIMS for a couple years and just this last year switched
over to Mapserver with a chameleon front end, as we had a large project
that requires the use of WMS which ArcIMS doesnt really support.

I run my mapping applications on a win2k box using IIS as my web server.

We have a number of small projects on the go, but most are password
protected due to data limitations. We are using mapserver with a masters
student project called 'roadwatch' which can be found at:
http://www.rockies.ca/roadwatch.

Roadwatch is a citizen science project to gather information on wildlife
crossing highway 3 in the crowsnest pass area. The mapping application
basically allows the user to add points to the database by clicking on
the map, then filling out a form of information associated with that
point. In beta, non-live, version I have it setup to display the users
points and labels as well as all combined points, on the map, but need
to make some changes to the login system before I can move this to the
live version.

Till later,

Ken
