[ms4w-users] loadMap(): Web application error. CGI variable "map" is not set

 I've been trying working on my first map file called sample.map 
 
MAP     
        IMAGETYPE PNG
        SIZE    600 300
        EXTENT  -180 -90 180 90
        SHAPEPATH "/ms4w/Apache/htdocs/data"
        IMAGECOLOR 255 255 255
        LAYER   
               NAME    countries
               TYPE    POLYGON
               STATUS  DEFAULT
               DATA    countries_simpl
               LABELITEM 'NAME'
               CLASS
                       STYLE
                               OUTLINECOLOR 100 100 100
                       END
                       LABEL
                               MINFEATURESIZE 40
                       END
               END
        END
END
 
But when I type the following URL:
 
 
http://localhost/cgibin/mapserv.exe?map=/ms4w/Apache/htdocs/data/sample.map&
layer=countries&mode=map
 
 Then I only get this error massage:
 
loadMap(): Web application error. CGI variable "map" is not set.
