[MS4W-Users] Problem with Python GDAL utilities

Hi Luis,

I have the gdal.py and the _gdal.dll files and there are no errors running gdal python tools. I guess your best bet is to reinstall or copy the gdal.py separately. I'm not sure why the errors after doing this. Sorry.

Hi Frank,

It seems the problem is not with PIL. After installing it still with the same error.
Thanks anyway,

Any more suggestions?

Hi Luis,
Try downloading the appropriate PIL version from their website (can't remember but try www.pythonware.com/products/pil/) and installing it. It helped me when I was using a python tool with my application. It was always giving errors till I installed the PIL. All the best.

Hi list,

I'm trying to use GDAL utilities (*.py) located in "C:\ms4w\python\gdal\utilities"
But i'm getting errors like:

ImportError: No module named _gdal

This is my setup:
    MS4W 2.3.1 , Python 2.5.4,
    setenv.bat done

There is a "strange" file named _gdal.dll located in "C:\ms4w\python\gdal" but no _gdal.py

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Luis Tavares
